Earth Day is a worldwide annual holiday dedicated to environmental protection. It is a time to reflect on the way we treat our planet and do something good for the environment. Saturday, April 21, 2018 | 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
The City of Mountlake Terrace is offering neighbors a chance to give back to the community by cleaning up one of the local parks. After the clean up, all volunteers will be treated to an appreciation lunch served by the City Council.
Volunteers should meet at the Ballinger Clubhouse parking lot located at 23000 Lakeview Drive, where they will be assigned jobs. Wear comfortable work clothes and bring gloves and tools along with you. Some of the clean up activities include weed control, pruning, spreading bark, litter clean up, debris removal, and sometimes repainting picnic tables, benches and gazebos.

If you have old electronics that have stopped working, you can bring them to Parking Lot F on campus and recycle them for free.
Chasing Coral Movie Screening
UW Bothell: Sunday, April 22, 2018 | 7 p.m.
Everett Community College: Wednesday, April 25, 2018 | 6:30 p.m.
The Snohomish County Marine Resources Committee is hosting two special screenings of the film Chasing Coral. This documentary reveals the changes in Earth’s ecosystem visible in ocean life and illustrates the importance of taking better care of our environment. These events are free to the public, and free popcorn will be provided.
Saturday, April 21, 2018 9 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
The Student Conservation Association is hosting 60 service projects nationwide in celebration of Earth Day. The Seattle, WA project will take place at Washington Park Arboretum, 2300 Arboretum Drive. Volunteers will be planting, mulching, removing invasive species, and maintaining trails. You should wear long pants and closed-toed shoes, and bring a water bottle to stay hydrated. Volunteers will receive coffee and snacks along with work gloves and materials for projects.
